Norwich City kept their place at the top of the table after picking up a 3-2 victory against Bolton Wanderers at Carrow Road. Teemu Pukki grabbed a dramatic stoppage-time winner to hand the Canaries all three points on the day.
They looked to have thrown away the points when a struggling Bolton side equalised late into the second half. Defender Mark Beevers broke the Norwich City fans’ hearts when he scored with just two minutes of normal time remaining.
But Daniel Farke’s side immediately responded via a decisive third goal from top-scorer Teemu Pukki who thumped home from just outside the box. Norwich City have now won eight and drawn just one of their last nine games.
Bolton star Sammy Ameobi was sent off after receiving a second yellow card on the night. Phil Parkinson’s side were made to pay for the midfielder’s tug on Norwich City youngster Todd Cantwell.
Bolton initially looked dangerous in the game as nothing went Norwich’s way in the early stages. The Wanderers looked good on the counter and were carving out lots of chances in the final third. Tim Krul made a superb save from Jason Lowe’s powerful drive from distance.
The Canaries took a while to get into their rhythm but soon grew into the game. Marco Stiepermann came close to scoring after bursting through the centre of the Bolton defence before firing in a shot that was saved by Ben Alnwick.
The German international did score a goal on the night to cap off an impressive game. Marko Vrancic opened the scoring for Daniel Farke’s side on the night with a well-taken goal.
Here’s how some Norwich fans reacted to the Canaries’ thrilling win over Bolton:
