Predicted Leicester City Line-up To Face Manchester City In The Premier League

Leicester City will welcome high-flying Manchester City to the King Power Stadium this weekend. This will be a big test for Claude Puel after taking over as Leicester manager and as his next game is against the best team of the current season. Pep Guardiola’s men have been unstoppable and it doesn’t seem like they are slowing down anytime soon.

The Foxes have quite some things to prove. For starters, they need all the points they can get to show that they are a strong team even now. They have considerably dwindled after their fairytale victory but it is now time to get back to winning ways.

Team News

Leicester City might have to do without the services of Vicente Iborra and Ben Chilwell, who are sidelined with ankle and knee injuries respectively. Besides that, Claude Puel will have no major injury concerns as Manchester City pay a visit.

Possible Leicester City XI Against Manchester City

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Claude Puel

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

A mainstay for the Foxes, Schmeichel continues to be a rock in the net for Leicester and is likely to start against Manchester City.

Kasper Schmeichel

Danny Simpson (RB)

Simpson is known for his conservative approach which often ends up putting him at an advantage, and he has been strong under Puel which should see him start.

Wes Morgan (CB)

Morgan has been defensively solid over the last month or so and is likely to continue his good work, against Manchester City.

Harry Maguire (CB)

Morgan is likely to be joined by Harry Maguire in the heart of Leicester’s defence as the duo has a good understanding.

Christian Fuchs (LB)

The defensive line will likely be completed with Fuchs essaying his usual role at left-back.

Christian Fuchs (right)

Wilfred N’didi (DM)

Against an attack-oriented side like Manchester City, N’didi will have to be at his best to offset the threats.

Andy King (DM)

With Iborra out of action, King is expected to come in and offer support to N’didi.

Shinji Okazaki (LW)

Okazaki’s creativity and vision have helped Leicester before, and he will certainly be important over the weekend too.

Riyad Mahrez (CAM)

Mahrez’s attacking runs and incisive cuts will be crucial for Leicester City, and he can capitalise on the absence of Otamendi, who has probably been the best defender this season so far.

Riyad Mahrez

Demarai Gray (RW)

Gray’s presence at right wing will be vital if the Foxes are to break down City’s defence.

Jamie Vardy (CF)

Much of Leicester’s success will depend on how Vardy fares over the weekend. It is of utmost importance that he gets his name on the score sheet to trouble the visitors.
