Newcastle United Opinion: Newcastle United need to make a move for Pione Sisto

Newcastle United finally splurged money, breaking their transfer record to acquire Miguel Almiron (BBC). It was the first time in 14 years that the Magpies got close to the fee they paid for Michel Owen and the Paraguayan has since become a big hit at the club.

But while the former Atlanta United star has added quality to the club, he cannot be the only arrival this year. At the moment, the Magpies are in decent form, having registered wins over Burnley and Huddersfield.

It has seen them rise out of the relegation zone but things could get worse next season. That’s exactly why manager Rafael Benitez needs to add to his teamsheet and the former Liverpool boss is linked with a move for Joelinton (Sun).

But even then, the Magpies need to add another winger. At the moment, they have only Kennedy (on loan from Chelsea), Matt Ritchie, who is 29, and Christian Atsu, who has failed to make any impact this season.

It shows the state of the club and reveals why Newcastle United need to make a move for La Liga star Pione Sisto. The 24-year-old has been brilliant for Celta Vigo since his arrival from Danish side Midtjylland. It was at the Danish side that he made a name for himself, after a superb solo goal against Manchester United in the Europa League.

That and a catalogue of other performances earned him a move to Celta Vigo and the La Liga, with the Uganda-born Danish international doing well for them as well. Since his arrival in 2016, Sisto has produced 28 goals in 106 appearances for the relegation-threatened side.

As a winger, the 24-year-old is lightning quick, unpredictable and self-confident which is evident when he has the ball. But the Danish star is always up to no good, creating new moves and trying to terrorize defenders.

Conclusion

Unlike Atsu, Pione Sisto has consistently contributed to goals and assists for Celta Vigo, which is what Newcastle United need at the moment. The Magpies boss Rafael Benitez likes his wingers to have a lot of pace and technical skill, which the 24-year-old Celta Vigo star has in spades.

But while his pace and strength make him a good winger, it’s his creativity in the final third and versatility that will make him good for Newcastle United. That combined with his work-rate and defensive contributions further add to his value, making any move a mouth-watering prospect.

Tom Landry once said "Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable." Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
