Messi To Chelsea, Hummels To Manchester United And More: 3 Transfer Stories That May Never Come True

Share

The football world went haywire a couple of days back with the news that Lionel Messi was following Chelsea on instagram. It basically meant the tabloids could go crazy and they started quoting that Messi would be out to join Chelsea as soon as possible, while Messi has spent his entire career at Barcelona, seeing him join Chelsea is a bit off.

That was not the only crazy rumour doing the rounds, another doozey was that Luis Suarez, the most expensive player this summer would be making a sensational return to the Premier League and that Mats Hummels would be joining Manchester United very soon, well as much as we hate to pour water over a fire, here are the reasons why such transfers can never happen.

1. Hummels not coming to Manchester United

Mats Hummels

Let’s start with something that was a little plausible to believe. Borussia Dortmund have had a pretty shambolic season so far and are in the relegation zone with half of the season played. Their gameplay has been littered with multiple errors, especially from their defence and rumours have been flying about that Hummels is looking for a way out and could join Manchester United.

Unfortunately for United fans that transfer will never, not only has his agent categorically denied any possible transfe, Dortmund probably can’t sell him seeing that they have lost 2 big players to Munich already, Lewandowski and Gotze. Losing Hummels to any club will be a huge loss and their defensive leader would probably want to stay and help out his team to ensure they don’t face the ignominy of getting relegated.

2. Messi to Chelsea? You gotta be joking

Messi

Another rumour which gathered steam thanks to Messi following Chelsea on a social networking site, does a player not have a right to have a life outside football and enjoy his time? There might be a few problems at Barcelona at the moment but no one should believe that Messi will be sold at a club which has built its team around the Argentine.

Lionel Messi is Barcelona, dare we say it he could be bigger than Ronaldinho was because he has been there since he was a little kid. Moving to Chelsea would cost the Blues around £200 million which is a crazy amount to pay for any player, especially when Jose Mourinho does not believe in having a “player” but more a “team”. This rumour should bite the dust as soon as possible but if it does happen the Financial Fair Play rules will go for a toss.

3. The biter returns

Luis Suarez

This one probably is the worst rumour that has been floating, Luis Suarez, who was sold from Liverpool to Barcelona and was joining a club he always dreamt to play for, would be brought back to the Premier League and some rumours went about linking with him to Manchester United, yes the same team that was ex player Patrice Evra’s and we all remember what happened between them.

Suarez would never return to England, he always stated that he was targeted and vilified in England and that the press and media were always out to get him, not to mention the opposition fans. Only one set of fans would want him back at the club, Liverpool. Wouldn’t they like to have their talisman back this season? You bet they would but it won’t happen, well at least not this season.
