McGregor And Armstrong Starts – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Celtic Line-Up To Face St. Johnstone

Celtic would hope to continue their dominance at the top of the Scottish Premiership table when they host Saint Johnstone at the Celtic Park on tonight as the league resumes from its winter break, and while the Bhoys remain unbeaten in 20 league fixtures this term having drawn just 1, there won’t be any room for a lackluster performance when the 5th placed team visit.

Back in August in their 1st meeting of the season at the McDiarmid Park, Celtic ran out winners in the game that ended 4 – 2, so the visitors aren’t the walk-in-the-park opponents to face, and Brendan Rodgers would definitely be naming his strongest XI to face them.

That lineup could look this:

Formation : 4-2-3-1

GK – Gordon

The Scottish goalie has been an ever-constant presence in the middle of the stick for the Hoops all-season and would look forward to keeping his 11th clean sheet of the season against the visitors.

LB – Tierney

The teenage sensation returned to the starting lineup and action against Albion Rovers following an ankle ligament damage he sustained in training in late October, and he should be making his first league start in 3 months on Wednesday night.

CB – Sviatchenko

The Dane is arguably Celtic’s best defender this season and would be expected to help nullify any attacking threats, Johnstone manages to initiate.

CB – Simunovic

The Croatian youngster has been a regular at the heart of Celtic’s defence thus far and should be starting tonight having come on against Albion in the Scottish Cup at the weekend.

RB – Lustig

The veteran Swedish veteran fullback has played 17 league games for Celtic this season and should make his 18th start tonight as the team continues to wrap up another title victory in earnest.

CM – Brown

The midfielder played all 90 minutes at the weekend and is expected to make the starting lineup when the league resumes with the visit of the Saints.

CM – McGregor

The young Scottish midfielder was rested for weekend’s clash but should be making a return to the starting lineup and it would be hoped he keeps the midfield ticking as Celtic records another win.

AML – Sinclair

The winger has 11 goals in the Premiership this term and would be relied upon to continue his brilliance in the final third against the visitors.

AMC – Armstrong

One of the Hoops’ highest goalscorers this term (8), the Scottish youngster opened his 2017 account with the 3rd and last goal against Albion on Sunday and that eye for goal would come handy on Wednesday night.

AMR – Forrest

The Scottish forward looks set for another start ahead of Roberts in Rodgers starting lineup for Wednesday’s game due to his hardworking performances on the right wing.

CF – Dembele

The 20-year-old has played in every of Celtic’s Premiership game this campaign, and it would be expected he adds to his 9 strikes against Saint Johnstone.
