Manchester United are on the verge of ending their summer rebuild process, as the transfer window nears its final days.
They have been productive with the acquisitions of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka so far but still, the Red Devils need to add a few players within the deadline.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to be reminded of bolstering the left-back position. The sole occupant, Luke Shaw, was left hardly with any back-ups last season.
The English defender was one of the positives in a lacklustre season for the Red Devils, which later earned him the Player of the Season award.
By and large, Shaw was not as effective as his peers and it is evident through his stats – a meagre goal and assists tally of 5 in 40 appearances. Furthermore, the former Southampton man often showed signs of rustiness in the last term.
Closely considering the aforementioned facts, it is time for United to bring in a competitive player to fill the left-back void and also enhance the competition for Shaw.
Alex Sandro, who was previously linked with a move to Old Trafford (h/t Mirror) is the right man for Solskjaer now.
The 28-year-old has been a staple for Juventus over the course, playing more than 150 matches in all competitions. He was named in the Serie A’s Team of the Year on two occasions, which further glorifies his status as one of the best in his position.
However, the 18/19 season didn’t turn out well for the Brazilian international, as he garnered unimpressive stats. Regardless, Sandro enjoyed a great Copa America campaign, where Brazil ended up as the winners.
In the meantime at Turin, the arrival of new left-back Luca Pellegrini complicated Sandro’s existence.
Given that, the former Porto man would be a valuable addition to Solskjaer’s revamped squad. At the same time, Sandro can draw more attention by playing in the Premier League.
Barring his lacklustre season the last term, Sandro never looked out of sorts as he has been instrumental behind the Old Lady’s winning spree in Italy.
An astute passer of the ball and inclined to partake in the attacking third, Sandro also can play as a wide midfielder on the left-flank, sometimes as a wing-back.

With his presence, the Norwegian manager can finally have a squad with a blend of young talents and some experienced ones.
The Red Devils should consider a move for Alex Sandro to add enough depth to the full-back position.
