Liverpool FC Opinion: Three Players who should replace Roberto Firmino in the future

Liverpool‘s attack over the past two seasons, especially the trio of Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, was one of the best in Europe without a shadow of a doubt.

Jurgen Klopp has highly benefited from the trident, having ended up as runners-up in the 2017/8 UCL campaign and winning the trophy the last term. They also secured a second-place finish in the Premier League.

Firmino, the focal point of the Reds’ attack, wasn’t the same inspiring figure last season when compared to the preceding seasons.

To be precise, the Brazilian’s scoring rate dropped significantly when compared to the 17/18 season, where he was at the peak of his powers with a goal and assist tally of 44.

Roberto Firmino

With the former Hoffenheim man starting to show rustiness, Klopp should sort out his successor sooner than later.

Here are the possible long-term replacements for Firmino.

Fedor Chalov (CSKA Moscow)

The Russin prospect is the latest transfer interest of the Merseyside club (h/t Daily Mail), as he had an outstanding season with CSKA Moscow.

From winning the golden boot award in Russian top-flight to scoring in the  Champions League against Real Madrid, it is no wonder the 21-year-old is being chased by a swarm of European elites.

Chalov has been making steady progress in Russia, as he racked up 17 goals and 7 assists in all competitions last season, further helping the Moscow outfit to clinch the Russian Cup.

Klopp can forge the Russian youngster into a massive force at Anfield – just like he did with Ousmane Dembele at Dortmund.

Timo Werner (RB Leipzig)

The German speedster was the subject of Liverpool’s transfer interest for a while. Klopp would have an unstoppable attacking unit if he can prise Werner away from RB Leipzig.

The 23-year-old has been a consistent performer in the Bundesliga over the course, having racked up a total of 67 goals and 27 assists for Leipzig till date.

A breaker of many records, the former VfB Stuttgart man has scored 10 goals in 25 appearances for the German national team.

Having attributes such as blistering pace, great decision-making and incisive finishing skills, Werner would be a real horse for Klopp’s course.

Divock Origi (Liverpool)

A surprise element of the Reds’ successful campaign the last term, Origi is a name that the Anfield faithful would hardly forget. After all, he scored in the UCL semi-final against Barcelona and in the final against Spurs.

Coming on as a make-shift for the injured Firmino, the Belgian striker capitalized on the limited opportunities, scoring 8 goals and providing 2 assists.

Having already shown the German manager his talent, Origi would be the smartest option the Reds can bet on for a long time.
