Leeds Live has revealed that Huddersfield star Aaron Mooy could join Leeds United in the summer, with the Terriers as good as relegated at the moment. Currently sitting rock bottom in the Premier League, the club has struggled to fight in the Premier League.
The Terriers have failed to perform well, struggling to do what David Wagner did so successfully last season. With a meagre budget, the former Huddersfield boss worked wonders with the club.
Wagner helped them survive in the Premier league despite all the odds being against them. Australian international Aaron Mooy was at the helm of it all, finishing the season with four goals and four assists.
This season, the 28-year-old has struggled to make an impact, much like the rest of Huddersfield team, but he still remains one of their best players. Furthermore, he is one of their most creative players, and that’s what Leeds United need more than anything else.
At the moment, the Whites have depended a lot on Pablo Hernandez, with the Spaniard providing 11 assists. Mateusz Klich has created the second most, with 7 assists to his name but barring that, few other players have done well.
Ezgjan Alioksi has 5 and three players have four assists to their name, which further emphasises why the club need Aaron Mooy. Creative and talented, the 28-year-old is a box-to-box midfielder by trade, although he can play further up as a number 10 if required.
Furthermore, the Australian is a workaholic and goes above and beyond for his team, which has been on show this season in the Premier League. Despite his injuries issues, Mooy would perfectly fit Marcelo Bielsa’s tactics.
The former Argentina manager likes his share of hard-working and yet creative midfielders and that personifies Aaron Mooy.
His quality will be very useful if Leeds United do manage to get promoted at the end of this season. It’s a move that will prove to be brilliant, especially given the fact that Mooy has just one year left on his current deal.
