Arsenal Player Ratings vs Watford: Here’s how the Gunners fared

Arsenal are maintaining good form under Unai Emery after picking up another 2-0 win against Watford. The Gunners found it slightly difficult to get going in the first half despite creating a number of chances in the final third.

But the Gunners finally broke the deadlock via an own goal from Craig Cathcart. German midfielder Mesut Ozil then capped off a dominant performance with another quick goal. All the action happened in the last 10 minutes as Arsenal continued their surge back to the top.

Arsenal Player Ratings

Petr Cech (6/10)

Was unfortunate to succumb to an injury. He was strong in goal though, making a few good saves and clearances before being taken off.

Hector Bellerin (6/10)

Not the best performance from the Spaniard. Roberto Pereyra handed him a tough afternoon and Bellerin didn’t offer much to the attack. His deliveries needed more work.

Shkodran Mustafi (5/10)

The German dealt with the crosses well but once again, he committed a number of silly fouls and didn’t look comfortable on the ball.

Rob Holding (7/10)

Another strong performance from Rob Holding. He was brilliant when it came to dealing with the crosses. The defender was also calm and composed on the ball.

Nacho Monreal (7/10)

Another typical performance from Nacho Monreal. No nonsense in the defence and did well going forward.

Lucas Torreira (6/10)

Looked scrappy in possession and committed sloppy fouls. But he did offer some neat and progressive passes.

Granit Xhaka (7/10)

Occasionally gave away the ball and slowed down the play on the counter. But he did impress with his range of passing and distribution.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (6/10)

The former Borussia Dortmund striker endured a quiet game and didn’t look decisive in the final third.

Mesut Ozil (7/10)

Engineered the win and scored a goal to cap off an impressive performance. It wasn’t the best game from the German but he seems to be taking more responsibility now.

Aaron Ramsey (5/10)

Poor performance from the Welshman who was substituted in the second half. He was anonymous for large portions of the game.

Aaron Ramsey and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang

Alexandre Lacazette (8/10)

The Frenchman is proving to be a massive asset for the Gunners this season. He had two excellent moments before both the goals.

Substitutes

Bernd Leno (7/10)

Came on as a substitute and made some excellent saves to keep the Hornets at bay.

Alex Iwobi (7/10)

Looked lively after coming and played a crucial role in the first goal.

Danny Welbeck (6/10)

Provided the Gunners with a certain spark in the final third. Both goals were scored after Welbeck came on.
