Kane Saves Spurs Blushes: The Best And The Worst Rated Tottenham Players In Their 2-2 Draw Against Leicester

Share

Tottenham avoided an early exit from the FA Cup when Harry Kane converted a controversial penalty in the 88th minute. Nathan Dyer was adjudged to have handled the ball and on closer inspection the decision seemed harsh.

Leicester were leading 2-1 at that time and looked good for the win, though Christian Eriksen got the ball rolling and gave Tottenham the lead in the first half. Leicester dug in and equalised thanks to Marcin Wasilewski and then took the lead through Shinji Okazaki.

With a replay coming in 10 days’ time, both teams will be looking to get the victory; we look back at the exciting game and provide the ratings for the Tottenham team.

Michel Vorm – 5/10

Not the greatest game for the Tottenham number two, he made a few errors and people might be worried as to his capabilities now.

Kieran Trippier – 5/10

Trippier didn’t really do all that much down the flanks, he did have a lot of the ball but missed that bit of quality that Tottenham needed.

Kevin Wimmer – 7/10

Had a pretty decent game with his passing range and ability at the back.

Toby Alderweireld – 5/10

Had a poor game at the back and could have done much better in both the goals conceded by Tottenham, certainly not his best match in the white of Spurs.

Danny Rose – 6/10

The captain for this game did pretty well but his final ball lacked quality and that would have frustrated him and Spurs fans a lot.

Eric Dier – 5/10

Dier did well but was substituted early to bring in Nabil Bentaleb in the second half.

Tom Carroll – 4/10

Looked quite out of sorts in the Tottenham midfield and was taken off in the second half for Harry Kane.

Nacer Chadli – 6/10

The Belgian looked quite tired and didn’t really have the fire in the belly that we have seen of him earlier.

Christian Eriksen – 6/10

Got the early goal for Spurs but faded a little after scoring the goal.

Josh Onomah – 7/10

He had a brilliant first half but then struggled to find his rhythm and energy in the second half. All in all a promising display.

Son Heung Min – 5/10

Had a rather subdued game for Tottenham and was marshalled well by the Leicester defence.

Substitutes

Harry Kane – 6/10

Got the important goal with a calm penalty and saved Tottenham’s blushes.

Nabil Bentaleb – 6/10

Looked good in keeping Leicester at bay even though he didn’t start the game for Spurs.

Dele Alli – 5/10

Didn’t have a lot of time to do much in the game but Tottenham did miss him in the starting lineup.
