Isco vs. Oscar: Do Chelsea Really Need The Spanish Trickster?

Isco vs. Oscar

Chelsea’s season seems to be taking a bit of a better turn, well they are still unbeaten under Guus Hiddink, again people might point out it is just a couple of games but the performances of the Blues has gotten better with each match.

The team did do exceptionally well by defeated Crystal Palace away from home and they would be looking for more performances as the one at Selhurst Park as they try to end the season with a flourish and gain a European slot for next season.

Many players haven’t been up to the mark for Chelsea under Jose Mourinho this season but a lot of them could also be playing for their future at the club and it seems that the owner of Chelsea, Roman Abramovich is ready to break the bank and sign a few players, giving Chelsea a new lease on life.

Isco

One player who has been linked with a move to London is Real Madrid’s Isco; the 23-year-old hasn’t always been the best player for the team and could well be one to move as he tries to gain prominence in a team. The problem arising with this transfer is that Chelsea already have someone similar in their team with Oscar. The two attacking players are compared thanks to stats from Sqauwka.com

London calling for Isco?

Oscar seems to be better when it comes to scoring goals in the league this season as he scores 0.3 goals per 90 minutes while Isco comes in with a paltry 0.1 goals per 90 minutes for Real. But when it comes to assisting the players it is the Spaniard who does better with 0.3 assists per 90 minutes and Oscar only providing 0.1 assists per 90 minutes for Chelsea this season.

The greater number of assists for Isco is partly due to his key passes which is 2.1 per 90 minutes compared to 1.1 for the Brazilian at Chelsea. However it is Oscar who plays more forward passes with 30 per 90 minutes and Isco comes in with 24 per 90 minutes.

Even when it comes to taking on defenders it is Isco who does better than Oscar. The Real Madrid attacker beats his man almost half the time while Oscar only has a 40% success rate in taking on players.

Oscar has been highlighted by many to help Chelsea overcome their problems this season and while the Brazilian does do a good job during some games, getting someone of the calibre of Isco would certainly set the cat amongst the pigeons at Chelsea.

The Blues do need to freshen things up and maybe this could be one way of getting their season on the right path.
