3 Possible Destinations For This Arsenal Power Dribbler

Share

The transfer window is bringing in many more cancelled deals than expected, most of the time loaned out players stay with the new club till the end of the season but after Patrick Bamford and Ryan Kent, it is time for another loanee to return to their parent team.

Serge Gnabry, one of a handful of Arsenal youngsters out on loan has cancelled his loan spell from West Bromwich Albion after only make one appearance all season. The 20-year-old had gone to the Hawthorns in expectations of getting regular playing time but with chances limited under Tony Pulis, the talented German has returned to Arsenal and he hopes to go back out on loan to a club that actually might give him some playing time.

While there would be many suitors for the midfield, there are a couple of factors that need to be considered before he or Arsenal decide on the club for the remaining months of the season. Gnabry should move to a club in England since he would be thinking of playing for the senior team and the more time he spends in England the better that would be. The power dribbler from Arsenal should also sign for a club that actually has a requirement for a midfielder and not just go for a Premier League club.

With the transfer window open, here are three clubs Gnabry could move to.

Brighton & Hove Albion

The club that are leading the race to sign the German midfielder, Brighton & Hove Albion are looking to increase their options in attack with Gnabry being the latest player linked with them. The Championship side are looking to make it into the Premier League next season though they would expect Serge to help them with that.

Chris Hughton seems to have almost sealed the deal to bring the German to the Championship team and Gnabry would expect that he gets more playing time for the Seagulls.

Sunderland

While this might seem as a tough option, especially with the way things are going, Sam Allardyce could do with some attacking options for the Black Cats. Sunderland need someone to save their faltering season and Gnabry could well be the guy who does that.

This option does seem to be the least likely but Sunderland did revive Fabio Borini’s career after he spent his first stint there and the Black Cats could well be lucky for the 20-year-old Arsenal midfielder.

Southampton

Staying in the Premier League, Ronald Koeman’s side could also do with an attacking midfielder in Gnabry. Koeman could well be losing out on one of their chief attackers in the winter window with Sadio Mane looking likely to sign for one of the bigger Premier League clubs and Serge could well provide them the boost that Southampton need.

Koeman is known for his ability to work with young players and with the Dutch manager publicly asking for funds to strengthen his squad, Gnabry could be an economical option till the end of the season for the Saints.
