West Brom put a break to their two-game losing streak by playing out a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers at the Hawthorns. Craig Dawson headed home at the far post to give the Baggies a lead before half-time, only for Harrison Reed to level things up with a wonder strike 19 minutes from time.
The game was going in West Brom’s favour in the first half when Matt Phillips’ cross from the left wing found the head of Dawson. Blackburn then responded, with Reed scoring a 25-yard scorcher into the top-left corner, leaving Sam Johnstone with no chance.
Made an important block in the first half. Couldn’t get anywhere near Reed’s strike.
Scored the opener but looked iffy in possession and suspect with his forward passing.
He was solid defensively, however, his passing is still very ordinary. Came close to scoring twice in the second half.
A solid game from Bartley, considering the fact that he was booked 15 minutes into the game.
Showed his quality in bits and pieces. Should have done better with a chance he got in the second half. Grew tired later in the game.
Was not at his usual best but his set-pieces were on the mark. Assisted Dawson’s header and tested the Blackburn goalkeeper with a narrow-angle shot.
Back from injury and kept things simple in the midfield. He doesn’t back himself to make longer passes when the option is there.
Probably the best player on the pitch for the Baggies. His accurate passing was there to be seen. Added more industry to the midfield.
A very quiet afternoon for the youngster. He may need some rest now, having played a lot of football this season already.
The debutant was guilty of taking too many touches of the ball, which made it easy for the defenders.
He had two bites to score a goal in the first half but the former Burnley man missed it. Not his best game.
Came on to add something extra, but wasn’t really on the same wavelength as Barnes.
He played one long-range pass towards Phillips to force a corner. A quiet cameo overall.
Sent a header looping over the crossbar.
