Celtic Player Ratings vs Kilmarnock – Here’s how the Hoops fared

Scottish champions Celtic lost their second game of the season as Stuart Findlay’s stoppage-time header won it for Kilmarnock. Leigh Griffiths scored 10 minutes before half-time to give Brendan Rodgers’ men the lead but Kilmarnock struck twice, with the second one being very late.

This defeat has pushed Celtic down to 6th place in the table. It was an abrasive game overall which was certain to end in a  stalemate, only for Findlay to rise on from Chris Burke’s cross and score. The latter netted the equaliser for the home team after the hour mark.

Celtic Player Ratings

Craig Gordon (5)

Couldn’t do much to stop the two goals. Apart from that, he didn’t have to do much.

Mikael Lustig (5.5)

An average performance from the right-back who could have done well today.

Dedryck Boyata

Dedryck Boyata (5)

The Belgian wasn’t able to dominate the Kilmarnock strikers and crosses, the latter of which proved costly.

Jack Hendry (5)

Just like his centre-back partner, Hendry could have done better to deal with the dangers.

Kieran Tierney (6)

Not his best day. The youngster didn’t have the impact he’d have wished for.

Youssouf Mulumbu (6)

The debutant tried to be dominant in the midfield with his powerful runs and good defensive work, but the opponents dealt with them comfortably. Mulumbu looked off the pace. Probably needs more minutes.

Scott Brown

Scott Brown (6)

Surprisingly, Brown was off the pace for most parts of the game, which is why Celtic weren’t able to dominate the game.

Michael Johnston (5.5)

Struggled to produce moments of quality up front. Had a minimal impact in the game.

Ryan Christie (5.5)

The Scottish international laboured throughout the game to create chances for the forward men.

Scott Sinclair (6)

Was in and out of the game in terms of producing quality service for the striker. He was substituted after the hour mark.

Leigh Griffiths

Leigh Griffiths (7)

Scored the goal in the first half and worked hard to make the Kilmarnock defenders uncomfortable.

Substitutes

Lewis Morgan (Subbed on after 65 mins) (5)

Came on to bring more quality to the creative department, but struggled.

Callum McGregor (Subbed on after 70 mins) (5)

Had very less impact from the bench.
