Bristol City would be aiming to put a disappointing loss against Stoke City behind them when they face Reading away from home this Saturday in the Championship. Lee Johnson’s men lost at home to Stoke last week, pushing them to 11th in the table, still only three points behind the playoff spots.
They face a Reading team who have won just one of their previous five games and are lying 22nd in the standings. Hence, the Robins should utilize this as a great opportunity to secure three points.
Frank Fielding is back in training, along with Mo Eisa, Bailey Wright and Hakeeb Adelakun. Niki Maenpaa is still out and may return after the next international break. Korey Smith is also out for this game.
With Maenpaa still out, we expect O’Leary to continue deputizing him in goal.
The 27-year-old has played every game this season and has been in decent form for the Robins in both facets of his game.
The loanee from Chelsea has looked good whenever he takes on the field. He should start alongside Adam Webster.
The 23-year-old has been a secured and solid presence at the back, having played every league game thus far.
The 20-year-old is showing great promise this season, and the manager is showing faith in him as well, having picked him for 13 of the 15 games.
The flexible winger can play on either side and impact the game well. His work from wide areas is key to the team.
The now experienced Pack has been a figure of consistency in central midfield for the Robins.
Brownhill has played every game this season and seems like an able partner for Pack in the middle third of the field.
O’Dowda’s pace should concern the Reading defence in wide areas of the pitch. The 23-year-old needs to improve the final product though.
The 25-year-old should start this game and lead the line well, as was the case in the previous two games.
