Predicted Derby line-up to face Birmingham City in the Championship

Derby County will welcome Birmingham City at Pride Park on Saturday in the Championship.

Frank Lampard’s Rams bowed out of the Carabao Cup in midweek following a 3-2 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Derby are on a five-game unbeaten streak in the Championship and Lampard will hope his boys pick up all three points against Birmingham City, who come into this game on the back of a morale-boosting 3-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

Team News

Craig Bryson and George Evans are both still out of the frame due to injury troubles. Joe Ledley is set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing a hip operation.

Probable Derby County XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Frank Lampard

Scott Carson (GK)

Carson is Derby’s undisputed no.1 in goal. He should retain his place in the team against Birmingham.

Jayden Bogle (RB)

Bogle endured a tough time against Chelsea but he must take it as a lesson and improve on his displays in the future.

Richard Keogh (CB)

The leader of the backline, Keogh will need to move forward from the Chelsea nightmare as quickly as possible.

Fikayo Tomori (CB)

Tomori had a night to forget against his parent club. He should be looking to redeem himself at the weekend.

Scott Malone (LB)

At left-back, it could be Malone against Birmingham City. He is a tireless performer and is also a good crosser of the ball.

Tom Huddlestone (CDM)

Shielding the back four could be Huddlestone, who had an excellent game against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

Harry Wilson (LCM)

Didn’t impress much against Chelsea but deserves a chance to continue his good run of form.

Mason Mount (RCM)

Mount did well against his parent club, Chelsea, and should continue in the same vein.

Tom Lawrence (LW)

Lawrence is an intelligent player and knows to get into promising goal-scoring positions.

Martyn Waghorn (RW)

Waghorn was on the score-sheet against Chelsea, which should give him a lot of confidence.

Jack Marriott (ST)

Marriott just cannot stop scoring at the moment. He is finally starting to justify Derby’s decision to sign him from Peterborough in the summer.
