Tottenham vs West Ham predictions: Tottenham line-up

A late winner from Christian Eriksen gave Tottenham the win against Brighton but the game was far from easy. The Seagulls put up an incredible fight to keep the score down to 1-0 and things could have been worse for Mauricio Pochettino.

The North London side are in the race for the top four and will have to keep their winning streak up to finish in the top four. West Ham, on the other hand, are also fighting for a place in the top seven but they have an outside chance of making it.

The Hammers have only managed one win in their last five games and that does complicate any hopes of a European place. However, with both sides looking to change their fortunes, that will make the game much more interesting.

Team News

Harry Kane is probably out for the season (Guardian) and Moussa Sissoko is also injured. This does give manager Mauricio Pochettino a headache but Eric Dier is back to full fitness.

Barring that, Pochettino still has Eric Lamela, Harry Winks and Serge Aurier out with long-term injuries.

Probable Tottenham XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (GK)

The Frenchman made his return against Brighton and did relatively well with the shots he faced.

Kyle Walker-Peters (RB)

The 21-year-old has done relatively well when called upon and with Spurs facing Ajax next week, he should find a place in the starting eleven.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

The young Colombian has done well when called upon and that should be enough for him to keep his place.

Jan Vertoghen (CB)

A leader, Vertonghen’s presence at the back has been a big reason for Tottenham’s success of late and he should keep his place.

Danny Rose (LB)

Rose started against Brighton and should continue the trend against West Ham on Saturday.

Eric Dier (CM)

With injuries elsewhere, there is a chance that Mauricio Pochettino could opt for the Englishman in the midfield.

Victor Wanyama (CM)

Victor Wanyama was rewarded with a start and ruled the midfield well against Brighton.

Christian Eriksen (CM)

Tottenham’s best player when in form, the Danish midfielder needs to start if the club are to finish in the top four.

Dele Alli (RW)

The young midfielder has been playing with a broken hand and yet, that hasn’t seemed to affect his performances.

Heung-Min Son (LW)

Among the club’s best players this season, Son needs to keep his place if Tottenham are to hold onto third spot.

Fernando Llorente (CF)

The big burly centre-forward should make the final cut against a struggling West Ham back-line.

Tom Landry once said "Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable." Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
