Manchester City vs Tottenham predictions – Manchester City line-up

Despite a wonderful attacking performance, Manchester City were knocked out of the Champions League by Tottenham on away goals.

Pep Guardiola’s dismal run in the final stages of the Champions League continued but he will have an opportunity to get his revenge in the Premier League when City take on Tottenham for the third time in 10 days on Saturday.

Team News

Manchester City are fortunate on the injury front, with just Claudio Bravo and Oleksandr Zinchenko ruled out for the game at the weekend. Pep Guardiola will have everybody available at his disposal as he looks to keep up the pace with Liverpool.

Probable Manchester City XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Ederson (GK)

The Brazilian is City’s undisputed number one and he is certain to start on Saturday.

Kyle Walker (RB)

The former Tottenham man will look to have an impact against his former club at the Etihad this weekend.

John Stones (CB)

The former Everton man sat out both the Champions League games against Spurs but he should start in the Premier League on Saturday.

Aymeric Laporte (CB)

Arguably City’s best defender this season, Laporte’s leadership and positioning at the back will be massively important for the Cityzens in their run in for the title.

Benjamin Mendy (LB)

The 24-year-old played 84 minutes against Spurs in midweek and is expected to start again at left-back on Saturday.

Fernandinho (CDM)

The Brazilian came off the bench on Wednesday night but he should start against Spurs at the Etihad this weekend.

Kevin de Bruyne (RCM)

Despite not being able to reproduce last season’s performances, de Bruyne is a massively important player in Pep Guardiola’s system. He should start in the midfield on Saturday.

Bernardo Silva (LCM)

The 24-year-old has been directly involved in 24 goals so far this season and he should start in the midfield instead of the wing on Saturday.

Leroy Sane (LW)

Sane has only started 20 games in the league this season but the German has scored 9 goals and provided 11 assists so far.

Raheem Sterling (RW)

Sterling’s outstanding tally of 39 goals in 45 appearances this season is sure to strike fear in his opponents and he should look to increase his figures for the season on Saturday.

Sergio Aguero (ST)

The Argentine’s goal and an assist was not enough to take City over the line in the Champions League but his contribution in the League will play a huge role in the title race.
