Predicted Chelsea line-up to face PAOK in the Europa League

Chelsea will be seeking to get back to winning ways when they face PAOK at Stamford Bridge in the Europa League on Thursday. The Blues lost for the first time this season on Saturday, at the hands of Tottenham, hence, Maurizio Sarri’s men would be looking to regain momentum this week.

They have already qualified for the knockout stages of this competition, hence, the manager might test the bench strength and start some fringe players for this game.

Team News

Eden Hazard got a knock during the game against Spurs. Ethan Ampadu is still out injured and would not featue on Thursday.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Maurizio Sarri

Kepa Arrizabalaga (RB)

The Spaniard made some good saves on Saturday despite conceding three goals. He was a bit circumspect on the ball. He will be looking to rectify that.

Gary Cahill

Davide Zappacosta (RB)

With Cesar Azpilicueta expected to get a rest, we should see Zappacosta in action.

Gary Cahill (CB)

The experienced Englishman has featured in cup games before, and that will be the case this Thursday as well.

Andreas Christensen (CB)

Just like Cahill, Christensen has also featured in cup games. He is expected to partner Cahill.

Emerson (LB)

Marco Alonso is expected to get a game off, therefore, we might see Emerson in action for the Blues.

Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas (CDM)

Fabregas has played cup games just like the other fringe players. Expect the Spaniard to replace Jorginho for this game.

Ross Barkley (LCM)

The Englishman did not feature from the start on Saturday, hence, we may see him in action on Thursday.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (RCM)

The youngster has already scored a hat-trick in this competition before. He should be raring to get a chance to impress the manager.

Willian (LW)

Eden Hazard has a knock and won’t feature, so Willian could swap wings and start on the left.

Olivier Giroud

Olivier Giroud (ST)

The Frenchman came on late and scored the consolation goal on Saturday. He is expected to lead the line.
