Celtic FC vs Ross County prediction: Celtic FC line-up

Celtic travel to Ross County in a return to Scottish Premiership duties following their massive Europa League victory over Rennes on Thursday.

The Hoops secured top spot in Europa League Group E with a solid 3-1 win over Rennes at Parkhead. Goals from Lewis Morgan, Ryan Christie and substitute Mikey Johnston helped the hosts win the contest.

Following their victory in Europe, Neil Lennon’s men will be full of confidence going into Sunday’s game.

Team News

Odsonne Edouard missed the game against Rennes with a niggle and remains doubtful for Sunday’s trip to Dingwall. Jonny Hayes could also miss the upcoming game, having suffered a popped shoulder against Livingston.

Probable Celtic XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Fraser Forster (GK)

Forster has been brilliant since arriving on a season-long loan from Southampton in the summer. He’ll keep his place between the sticks.

Jeremie Frimpong (RB)

Frimpong has impressed for the Hoops and should return to the starting XI on Sunday.

Christopher Jullien (CB)

Jullien has established himself as a first-team regular, forging a solid central defensive partnership with Ajer.

Kristoffer Ajer (CB)

Ajer has been really solid throughout the season and will aim to keep the Ross County attackers at bay.

Greg Taylor (LB)

With Hayes injured, Taylor has a chance to stake a claim as first-choice left-back.

Scott Brown (CM)

A leader on and off the pitch, Brown will look to take control of the game from the first minute on Sunday.

Callum McGregor (CM)

McGregor has been a consistent performer for the Hoops over the last two seasons. He’ll partner Brown in the middle of the park.

James Forrest (RW)

Forrest has impressed since the start of the season and will look to cause all kinds of problems for the Ross County defenders.

Tom Rogic (CAM)

Rogic was an unused substitute in the Europa League victory over Rennes but he’ll be backing into Lennon’s starting XI at Dingwall.

Ryan Christie (LW)

Christie is a creative player who has nailed down his place in Lennon’s starting XI with a series of impressive displays. He’s a certainty to start on the left flank.

Lewis Morgan (ST)

In Edouard’s absence on Thursday, Morgan vindicated Lennon’s decision to start him by scoring a goal. A solid performance against Rennes should be enough to hand Morgan a start at Ross County.
