(Image) Here’s How Wolves Might Line Up Against QPR In A 3-4-3 Formation This Weekend

Predicted Wolverhampton Wanderers Line-up To Face Queens Park Rangers In The EFL Championship

Wolves, somewhat surprisingly, rested most of their first choice XI for the trip to Man City in the League Cup on Tuesday but came away with a more than credible 0-0 draw after 120 minutes. Cruelly, they were then beaten on penalties but can take plenty away from that match, with more players now pushing for a starting place.

Given the rigours of that encounter though and the fact that certain players were “rested” to be kept fresh for this match, a similar side to the one which lined up against Preston last time out in the league is expected to be named by Nuno Espirito Santo. The 3-4-3 / 5-2-3 formation could once again be in evidence:

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Nuno Espirito Santo

GK – John Ruddy

The ‘keeper was one of those we can consider unlucky not to be given the chance for the face-off with Man City at the Etihad in order to prove his Premier League quality. Should get a start here though.

CB – Danny Batth

Eight league appearances this season for the popular defender and a ninth one is on the cards here.

Danny Batth

CB – Conor Coady

An own goal against Preston and a missed penalty in the shoot-out at Man City have made for a fairly miserable week for Coady, though he remains important to the side and should start once more.

CB – Roderick Miranda

The Portuguese defender has been solid in this back line since his arrival and will be important here, away from home.

RWB – Matt Doherty

He is thriving in this position and is having a very good season indeed, complimenting the swashbuckling Douglas on the other side.

Barry Douglas

LWB – Barry Douglas

The ex-Dundee United full-back is another who loves this more marauding role and will be very important for numerous reasons here.

CM – Ruben Neves

The young midfielder has a sparkling future, there is little doubt about that, though you would hope there is no danger of burnout.

CM – Romain Saiss

The French-born midfielder is on course to make a 14th league appearance of the season alongside Neves.

RW – Ivan Cavaleiro

The winger was just as effective switching to the right wing last time out and he is very likely to start there again as part of an unchanged front three.

Ruben Neves

LW – Diogo Jota

The star man in this side and the main danger to the QPR defence. Jota should start on the left but make his way inside at regular intervals.

ST – Leo Bonatini

The Brazilian continues to be in good scoring form and managed to slot home his penalty in the shoot-out at Man City in midweek.
