Crystal Palace will travel to the Old Trafford as they gear up to take on Manchester United in game-week 7 of the Premier League, on Saturday.
The Eagles are without a point after six games this season and are yet to open their goal-scoring account in the Premier League this season. They come into the game on the back of a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City and it is unlikely that their fortunes will change on Saturday, given the hot form Jose Mourinho’s side are in. However, manager Roy Hodgson will be hoping to cause an upset this weekend against the Red Devils.
The biggest blow for Palace will be the fact that star striker Christian Benteke is ruled out of the game due to a knee problem. Elsewhere, Connor Wickham and Wilfried Zaha continue to remain absent as well. On-loan defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah will not be available for selection against his parent club.
The Wales No.1 should continue to man the goal for the Eagles, but will have a hard time keeping out a rampant Manchester United attack.
With Fosu-Mensah unavailable for selection, Joel Ward is likely to return to the starting line-up on Saturday, after missing out last week.
The captain will take his place in the heart of the defence for Palace. Will have a big task at his hands against this United side.
The Frenchman has been fairly impressive since his move from Liverpool this summer. He will be tasked with keeping Romelu Lukaku quiet.
The Dutchman has found his way back into the team under Hodgson and is likely to retain his spot in the line-up at left-back.
The Serbian midfielder will take up one of the two midfield pivot positions and look to shield his backline from the midfield runners.
A change expected here, with Yobhan Cabaye likely to make way for Jairo Riedewald, as Hodgson might look to field a defensively robust side against the Red Devils.
The former Tottenham and Newcastle United man has been bright in spurts going forward. Needs to provide the spark on a consistent basis.
The on-loan midfielder from Chelsea seems the likeliest of the Palace players to make something happen in the attacking third. Will be a threat to United.
The former Leicester City man has found himself in a much-advanced role on the left-flank in last couple of games and is likely to continue there on Saturday.
With both Benteke and Wickham unavailable, Hodgson has just one senior forward at his disposal for the United encounter, in the form of Bakary Sako.
