Predicted Celtic Line-up To Face Hibernian In The Scottish Premiership

Celtic will look to continue their domination in the Scottish Premiership, when they face Hibernian at the Celtic Park, on Sunday.

The Hoops are on top of the table, with 19 points from 7 games (6W, 1D) and come into the game on the back of an excellent week. A convincing 2-0 win over bitter rivals Rangers over last weekend was followed by a resounding 3-0 triumph over Belgian champions Anderlecht in the UEFA Champions League during the midweek. Brendan Rodgers’ side will be brimming with confidence heading into Saturday’s clash against the Hibs.

Team News

Captain Scott Brown is a major doubt for the game, after being subbed off due to a hamstring problem against Anderlecht. Stuart Armstrong, who missed the midweek game due to a calf injury, is expected to be fit and ready. Kouassi Eboue is set to miss out again.

Here’s how the Bhoys might line up against former manager Neil Lennon’s side:

Manager: Brendan Rodgers

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Craig Gordon (GK)

An ever-present in the starting line-up for the Scottish champions, Craig Gordon will continue to take his place between the sticks on Saturday.

Mikael Lustig (RB)

The Swede had a solid outing against Anderlecht in the midweek and might once again get the nod ahead of young Anthony Ralston, against the fourth-placed Hibs.

Jozo Simunovic (CB)

The Bosnian centre-half was brilliant in the midweek encounter and will want to continue in a similar fashion in the weekend.

Dedryck Boyata (CB)

Having returned from a long injury layoff, the former Manchester City man has made his presence felt with strong displays at the back. Should partner Simunovic in the heart of the defence.

Kieran Tierney (LB)

The 20-year old has become an integral part of this Celtic team with his forward threat and assured presence at the back. Should start at left-back.

Nir Bitton (CM)

With captain Scott Brown unlikely to be available due to an injury, Israeli midfielder Nir Bitton might come into the playing XI.

Olivier Ntcham (CM)

The summer signing from Manchester City has been very impressive with his performances in the midfield. Should partner Bitton against Hibernian.

Patrick Roberts (RW)

The exciting winger scored against Anderlecht and has been a bright spot in Celtic’s attack ever since he returned for his second loan stint. Should keep James Forrest out once again.

Callum McGregor (CAM)

The 24-year old was once again overlooked for the midweek clash, but he did what he does best – impressing after coming on from the bench. Maybe Rodgers will finally give him a start.

Scott Sinclair (LW)

The Englishman was another goal scorer on Wednesday night. Having found his form of late, he will be keen on continuing it.

Leigh Griffiths (ST)

The Scottish international has been in top form, scoring 7 and assisting 6 in 14 games in all competitions so far. Will want to do well against the Hibs, where he spent two seasons on loan.
