Hull City vs. Manchester United (3 Key Battles)

The last day of the season will be a big one for Hull City, they face Manchester United knowing that only a win can give them any chance of staying in the Premier League. The good news for them is that United have already qualified for the Champions League and they have nothing to play for, the bad news is that Hull do not have their fate in their own hands.

Hull need to win against United and hope that Newcastle either lose or draw their last game, Steve Bruce’s men will be hoping that his old club might do them a favour and let them survive but Louis Van Gaal would not be taking any match lightly or be willing to hand out favours to any team. Hull will have to play out of their skin to survive the drop, the way they have played in the last few games does not give their supporters much hope against United.

We look at the 3 key battles from the game, which could decide where Hull end up at the end of the most important 90 minutes in their Premier League journey.

Radamel Falcao

1. Harper vs. Falcao

It could be the final game Falcao plays in the red of Manchester United and he would be looking to go out on a high by scoring a goal or two. The season hasn’t panned out as Falcao might have expected, but a good performance from the Colombian could push his stock value up the transfer market and he could end up at another club at the end of the season. Harper though will have to be at his best to ensure that Hull keep a clean sheet and have a chance of winning the game.

2. Elmohamady vs. Young

The reborn Ashley Young might be in with a chance of making it into the next England squad, Young has been exceptional over the past few weeks and another great performance against Hull could be the clincher as he tries to get back to the England team. Meanwhile, Elmohamady will have to keep his wits about as he needs to keep a roaring Young quiet in a game which could be the biggest he has played in a while.

3. Hull Strikers vs. De Gea

David De Gea

It could all come down to this battle for Hull City. David De Gea vs. Hull could have been a better battle to write about, if the strikers at Hull can actually beat the goalkeeper of the season then they might just about survive this season. Goal scoring has been a problem for Steve Bruce’s men and that problem would have to be taken care off against Manchester United. Jelavic might not be in the greatest of form, but he will hope to have his shooting boots on as he could be the key
