Strongest Liverpool XI To Face Stoke City: 3 Ex-Southampton Stars To Start

Share

A season that had so much scope for a young Liverpool team to grow from their last season saw them being taken out to town. Players didn’t hit their stride, formations didn’t work, their main striker missed more than half the season, their gamble of signing Balotelli didn’t work, they failed miserably in the Champions League, their legendary captain decided not to extend his contract and now the best young player in Europe does not want to sign a new contract and wants to move away.

Liverpool

Rodgers would be hoping he had a magic wand to fix all the problems he faced this season but hopefully the end of this season might be a good thing for Liverpool as they can check and really work hard in the off-season and hopefully rectify the problems they faced this season. The last game of the season sees them travel to the Britannia, never an easy place to go to. Mark Hughes has done an amazing job with Stoke City and they do play a decent style of football, we look at the predicted starting line-up for the Reds.

Simon Mignolet

He might have had a poor season but completely changed in the second half of the season, Mignolet still has a chance of winning the golden glove, who would have thought that at the halfway mark of the season?

Alberto Moreno

The left back might have missed a few games in place of Glen Johnson, but he is the future for Liverpool and should play against Stoke.

Martin Skrtel

Skrtel might be another player who leaves Liverpool in the summer like Glen Johnson, but he has been one of their best defenders and could end up signing an extension in the summer.

Dejan Lovren

Lovren looked good in the last few games, but he was absolutely torn to shreds against Palace. Hopefully, he can pick himself up and take on a tough Stoke City side.

Emre Can

The brightest young player that Liverpool have had this season, the talented midfielder will hope to play more games in  the central midfield for Liverpool next season.

Jordan Henderson

The midfielder had a great season and he will be looking to ensure that next season will be an even better one for the English star.

Steven Gerrard

The last game for the Captain, no words can describe what fans and Gerrard will be going through, he will hope that Liverpool sign off with a win for his sake at least.

Philippe Coutinho

The one attacker who had a great season for Liverpool, Coutinho will hope to continue his form as he tries to seal a place in the starting line-up for Brazil in this summer’s Copa America.

Jordon Ibe

Raheem Sterling might not start for the Reds after all these transfer issues and that would mean the next Raheem Sterling (someone who has more loyalty) might get the start. Ibe has been one of the bright spots for Liverpool this season and they will hope he does better for them next year.

Adam Lallana

Lallana himself stated that he didn’t have the best season for Liverpool and hopefully he can produce a good performance against Stoke and sign off well.

Rickie Lambert

The striker might be playing his last game for Liverpool, his year with the boyhood club has not worked as he would have imagined and hopefully he can prove to be a handful in the final game of the season.
