Predicted Crystal Palace Line-up To Face Leicester City In The Premier League

Crystal Palace will be hoping to get one step closer to securing their Premier League survival with a win over Leicester City on Saturday.

Last weekend’s draw at Watford saw the Eagles claim their 35th point of the campaign and move up to 14th place with three games to play. Another three points on Saturday will ensure safety for Roy Hodgson’s men.

Leicester, on the other hand, are without a win in three games. The Foxes are all but assured of a top-ten finish but will be aiming to end the season on a high note.

Probable Crystal Palace XI

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Roy Hodgson

Wayne Hennessey (GK)

Hennessey has been a permanent fixture in goal for Palace and that is not going to change against Leicester City.

Joel Ward (RB)

Joel Ward has been erratic this season but should keep his place in the starting XI for Saturday’s game.

James Tomkins (CB)

Barring a few lackadaisical outings, Tomkins has been rock-solid at the back this season. He has also popped up with a couple of goals for Palace.

Mamadou Sakho (CB)

Sakho put in his best performance in Palace colours last weekend against Watford. The Frenchman adds a lot of solidity to the back-line and exudes calmness. He will continue to partner Tomkins in central defence.

Mamadou Sakho

Patrick Van Aanholt (LB)

Lively and quick, Van Aanholt is enjoying an impressive season at Selhurst Park down the left. He should provide some defensive stability.

Luka Milivojevic (CM)

Milivojevic has been a revelation for the Eagles this season. He has brought a lot of stability and energy in the midfield and his defensive duties are second to nothing. One of the most crucial members for Hodgson, he is a sure starter at the weekend.

Yohan Cabaye (CM)

Capable of picking out a pass from the midfield, Cabaye will need to be at his best to carve out Leicester’s defence. He is a solid player capable of dictating terms from the middle of the park.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (LM)

The Chelsea-loanee missed few months of action due to injury but is now back to full fitness and is raring to go. He will be determined to make a mark against the Foxes.

Andros Townsend (RW)

Blessed with blistering pace and high energy, Townsend will look to offer width and provide impetus to the attacks. His intelligent movement and deliveries make him a pivotal figure in Palace’s set-up.

Wilfried Zaha (ST)

Arguably Palace’s best player of the season, Zaha’s devastating pace, skill set and dribbling abilities always make him a dangerous customer to deal with. He should start the game as Palace look for three more points to ensure safety.

Christian Benteke (ST)

Back from injury, Benteke is a towering figure and Palace should play to their striker’s strengths. The big Belgian is a threat during set-pieces, which Leicester should be wary of at the weekend.
