Highlights: Danny Welbeck’s Ridiculous First Touch And Goal vs Moldova

Share

Manchester United ace Danny Welbeck helped England to cruise a 4-0 win over Moldova at the Wembley Stadium last night which places them at the top of group H. The United forward scored a goal on either side of half time and looked lively throughout the game as he filled the void left by Wayne Rooney who is nursing a head injury.

The 22-year-old has scored two goals for Manchester United this season, and performances like this will surely give Moyes a headache in the coming weeks. Although there are not a lot of new signings to look forward to, United fans can be excited about what he could do in the league this season.

Unfortunately Welbeck will miss England’s next game against Ukraine on Tuesday as he picked up a yellow card, a little harsh one. Welbeck was carded in the stoppage time of the first half for shooting after being flagged offside.

Talking after the game, Hodgson was furious with the referre as he suffers another blow to his striking department which already misses the likes of Rooney and Sturridge.

“We were already very short of front players,” he said.

“I don’t believe it was a yellow card offence, and the other one he got in Montenegro, we should have had a penalty and he was booked for diving.

“He’s been unbelievably unfortunate. We have already lost Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge and it makes life difficult for us. It takes the gloss off a good team performance.”

Watch this goal as he controls Lambert’s searching pass to get past the Moldova keeper before placing it in the back of the net.

And here is his second goal of the night, a delightful chip over the keeper:
