Here are two players Celtic must offload in January

Celtic have enjoyed a lot of success under Brendan Rodgers in the last two years. Rodgers helped Celtic win double treble last season and he remains hungry for more at Parkhead.

After winning a lot of trophies in the last two seasons, Celtic have not made the best of starts in the new Scottish Premiership campaign. The Hoops did bring in a few players in the summer but were unable to spend in excess.

Overall, Rodgers has some really good players in his ranks that are capable of making a difference in any given match. Celtic’s squad is arguably the strongest in the Scottish Premiership and the club could do a solid job even if they cut away some of the deadwood.

Rodgers should definitely offload a couple of players who have failed to make an impact this season and get some funds to reinvest in other areas. That being said, here are two players the Hoops must offload in January.

Marvin Compper

Many Celtic fans would have probably forgotten that Marvin Compper still plays for the Bhoys. Compper, 33, joined Celtic in January but has endured an injury hell, managing just 83 minutes of football.

A lack of fitness and form has contributed to Compper’s miserable spell so far at Parkhead. The centre-back is yet to make a single appearance in the Premiership this season as he continues to battle with an injury.

Compper is one of the most puzzling Celtic signings in recent years and if there’s one player who should leave the club in January, it is none other than the veteran defender.

Eboue Kouassi

Another player whose time is certainly up at Celtic Park is Eboue Kouassi. The 20-year-old joined from Krasnador in January 2017 but has found it hard to break into the Celtic team this season. He was expected to give Celtic’s veteran skipper Scott Brown a tough competition but that hasn’t been the script whatsoever.

As a matter of fact, Brown has got better with age and Kouassi now finds himself down the pecking order.

Kouassi’s most recent game was a forgettable display in August against Hearts at Tynecastle, a fixture which the Hoops lost 1-0.

Rodgers should definitely cash in on the young Ivorian and reinvest that in improving other areas of the squad in January.
