Predicted Celtic Line-up To Face Hearts In The Scottish Premiership

After lifting their 7th consecutive Scottish Premiership title, champions Celtic will take on Hearts in their antepenultimate league game of the season.

Brendan Rodgers’ side were crowned the champions last weekend when they absolutely battered their arch-rivals Rangers, beating them 5-0 at the Parkhead. The manager will be hoping to finish the season on a high, starting off with a victory against Hearts at the Tynecastle Park on Sunday.

The two teams have already clashed thrice this season, with Celtic emerging victorious on two occasions, while the Hearts have got the better of the Hoops once.

Probable Celtic XI

Manager: Brendan Rodgers

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Craig Gordon (GK)

The veteran Scottish goalkeeper should once again be tasked with manning the goal as he goes in search of his 13th clean sheet of the season.

Mikael Lustig (RB)

The Swedish right-back made a fast recovery from injury to feature in the last week’s title-clinching derby and was quite solid in the game. Should be retained in the starting XI.

Dedryck Boyata (CB)

There have been a lot of calls for the Belgian defender to be left out of the team, owing to inconsistent displays, but Boyata was brilliant against the Gers. Needs to carry on from where he left off last week.

Kieran Tierney

Kristoffer Ajer (CB)

The Norwegian youngster has been one of the biggest positives of the season for the Scottish champions. Having enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough campaign, he will want to end the season strongly.

Kieran Tierney (LB)

The PFA Young Player of the Year award winner for the third season running, the 20-year-old Kieran Tierney has once again stood out for the Hoops with his performances at left-back. Deserves a starting spot.

Scott Brown (CM)

Crowned the Scottish PFA Player of the Year, Celtic captain Scott Brown has had one of the finest campaigns in his long tenure at the Parkhead. Will be keen on winding up with more influential displays.

Olivier Ntcham

Olivier Ntcham (CM)

The former Manchester City midfielder has enjoyed a decent debut campaign in Scotland, playing an important role in their title-winning campaign, chipping in with 8 goals and 5 assists in all competitions.

Patrick Roberts (RW)

The on-loan Manchester City forward hasn’t been able to hit the same heights as last season with the Hoops but will be intent on making a mark in the last few games. Should be given an opportunity ahead of James Forrest.

Tom Rogic (CAM)

The Aussie attacking midfielder was on target against the Gers last weekend and will be hoping to carry on from where he left off on Sunday at the Tynecastle.

Scott Sinclair

Scott Sinclair (LW)

The Englishman hasn’t scored a single goal in the Premiership since January and will want to rectify that if given an opportunity against Hearts this weekend.

Leigh Griffiths (ST)

The 27-year-old Scottish international hasn’t had the most prolific of seasons in front of goal and will be keen on signing off on a high.
