Predicted France Lineup to play against Germany
An all European clash is set to sizzle at the Maracana as France take on Germany in the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup 2014. The Les Bleus have enjoyed a terrific campaign but in hindsight Didier Deschamps’ side haven’t been tested yet. The Die Mannschaft will be more than a serious challenge for France as a spot in the last four heats up. Can the 1998 Champions beat Joachim Loew’s side to answer back their critics or will the Germans roll past them.
Here is the strongest possible France lineup going into the quarter final clash against the Germans.
Hugo Lloris will be in for a tough match against a floating German attack who are sure to take the game to the French. The Tottenham goalkeeper has conceded just a couple of goals in the showpiece event but will have to extremely cautious not to make any mistake in this crunch encounter with a semi final spot up for grabs.
Deschamps will look to an unchanged back four with Patrice Evra starting in the left back slot while Mathieu Decuchy filling in on the right wing back role. The Germans will be looking on the wing backs under severe pressure, trying to take advantage of the spaces left behind when them venture out to join attacks forward. It would be interesting to see if Deschamps goes Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho and Real Madrid’s Rapahel Varane or will the French coach decide to replace the Sakho with Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny.
Paul Pogba is set to take charge of the French midfield which directly sees a midfield battle in the clash. Paris St Germain’s Blaise Matuidi will act as the chief midfield destroyer, helping Pogba to join attacks up front. Morgan Schneiderlin might be benched for the game as Mathieu Valbuena should start on the right as expected looking to stay narrow providing wingbacks to overlap as much as possible. Yohan Cabaye should start to give the French a numerical advantage in the middle as the Germans are expected to lineup in their customary 4-3-3 system.
It would be interesting to see how Deschamps lines up his attacking options up front. The French coach would have analyzed Algeria’s direct attacks on the German defense with the wingbacks causing major trouble to Loew’s side. Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud might join Benzema up front in a 4-4-2 setup as Deschamps abandons his 4-3-3 philosophy with Griezmann warming the sidelines. The youngster would however be in line to get involved as the French will try to stretch out the German backline in the second half.
