Former Manchester United Star Urges Louis van Gaal to Sign Attacking Duo this Summer

Former Manchester United star Gordon Hill has now claimed that the Red Devils desperately need to sign attacking reinforcements and has urged manager Louis Van Gaal to push a deal for Charlie Austin and Harry Kane through immediately. The Dutch manager appears content with what he has at the moment, after guiding United to three straight wins in their first three games of the season.

Despite that, Hill insists that England international Wayne Rooney cannot be relied on to lead the forward line and it will only be wise to sign the forwards from QPR and Tottenham respectively, before the transfer window closes.

Hill told Extra Time, “I don’t know where the goals are going to come from in the Premier League this season. United should get the chequebook out and go and buy Harry Kane and Charlie Austin. Harry Kane is young, he is enthusiastic, and we’ve got players who can service him. Charlie Austin and Kane would be a formidable duo. “Charlie Austin is rough and ready and would be able to give us what we haven’t got, which is a bit of grit and determination, and Harry would be able to give us a bit of quality and class. What scares me is the quality isn’t what I expected for the amount they have spent. I believe Van Gaal has got a jigsaw puzzle and is trying to do it as we speak. He doesn’t know his best 11. It is a case of square pegs in round holes and unfortunately I don’t think he knows what his settled side is because he is playing around with it too much. There is no settlement at all. We have been fortunate to get results.“
