Arsenal have made it clear this Transfer Window that they won’t shy away from spending money on the deserving players and Arsene Wenger has set his task for that. The recent announcement of Granit Xhaka just paves the way for more signings to arrive and Arsenal’s primary focus will be to bolster the attacking options after that the unforeseen injury of Danny Welbeck where the striker would be out for 9 months.
Three top top strikers have been linked with Arsenal over the few days and I look at three attacking options Wenger should look for :-
1) Zlatan Ibrahimovich
The Swedish striker has finished his career with Paris St. Germain and as his contract has ended, Zlatan will be available for a big free transfer this year, but we are assured that his hefty wage demand means that he will only go to a top club which can afford it and Arsenal is one of them.
In 31 appearances for PSG this season, Zlatan has struck the net 38 times which is absolutely incredible. That is almost over a goal per game. Zlatan boasts a shooting accuracy of 60% which is fabulous as well and shows his clinical nature as a striker. He has won 58% of the average duels and has created 45 chances.
Surely the Swede is well known because Arsene Wenger saw Zlatan in the trials when the striker was younger, but once again since it’s evident that Zlatan is available, Wenger should make a move because no-one can come better than this world class striker.
2) Gonzalo Higuain
Gonzalo Higuain is running riot in Serie-A. 35 appearances for the team from Naples, he’s scored 36 goals, created 51 chances and has a shot accuracy of 58%. Higuain is a world class poacher and a very very tidy finisher when it comes to the end result.
Alongside Olivier Giroud and in front of Mesut Ozil, I am salivating thinking about that. With a fabulous team player behind you, I am convinced that Higuain will be a hit at Arsenal.
The striker has much more to offer and if Arsenal are to prize away him from Napoli, then they have to lure him with cash and pay a lot but apparently it’s said that Wenger has enough money to spend in the market this season.
If Higuain does become available, then Wenger surely should go for him because apart from Zlatan and Morata, there aren’t so many reputed strikers available in the market.
3) Alvaro Morata
Morata has had a mediocre season this time around and has only scored 7 goals in more than 30 appearances, but according to Squawka, he’s created over 20 crucial chances as well. There is a reason Real Madrid put a buy-back clause in the Alvaro Morata deal and this summer it’s very evident that the striker can return to Madrid or be sold to a club that’s offering good money.
Morata is a very clinical poacher and he has that pace and skillset to excel in the Premier League. Witty runs, Clever touches, neat finishes and above all he’s a complete team player and he takes up some really good positions to slot in the balls home.
Morata has been very strongly linked with Arsenal and I won’t be surprised if Arsenal do eventually buy him.
