Leeds United continued their terrific start to the season with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Preston North End at the Elland Road. Tyler Roberts opened his account for the Peacocks with a brace and captain Liam Cooper scored another goal in a breezy night for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
The hosts took a deserved lead just before the break when Cooper headed in from an inch-perfect Barry Douglas corner. Roberts then scored the next two goals, with a lobbed and a headed finish respectively.
This win means Leeds are on 18 points from eight games at the top of the table, three points clear of Brentford, who have 15 points.
A very commanding performance from the goalkeeper today. Came off his line when required and made a good save early on in the game.
A typical busy night for Ayling, moving up and down the pitch to impact the game on both fronts.
Scored the opening goal which was a deserved one for the team. Defensively, he was superb all night, ushering the Preston forwards away with ease.
The Swede was defensively good but his passing range was pleasantly surprising. Solid and assured!
A fine display from the left-back who notched up another assist with a great corner.
A calm and assured performance from Phillips. Rarely gave the ball away, which is impressive.
Was better than his previous two displays, but missed two good opportunities to really up his confidence level.
A fantastic performance from the Spaniard who just knows how to create chances and make better use of the ball. Dipped a bit in the second half but it didn’t matter.
The Macedonian was slightly better when compared to Saturday, however, he still frustrates many with his crosses and terrible decision-making.
A fabulous performance from Harrison, who is proving that he can fill the boots of Pablo Hernandez.
Was better involved in this game than the last one. Scored two well-taken goals and got a standing ovation when he was subbed. This should really boost his confidence.
