League leaders Leeds United were held to a credible 1-1 draw at the Hillsborough Stadium by Sheffield Wednesday. Both teams scored spectacular goals to share the spoils in an entertaining yet tactical Yorkshire derby.
Adam Reach gave the home side the lead before half-time with an incredible dipping volley from way out. After the break though, Leeds responded in a fantastic manner when Mateusz Klich found the net with an impressive strike from distance.
The visitors pushed hard for a late winner only to be denied by some last-ditch defending and poor final ball.
Had no chance to save Reach’s goal and apart from that, he didn’t have too much to do after the break.
Was not tested defensively but he was good in moving forward and helping the attacks.
The captain was good in reading the game and making defensive contributions. However, his passing accuracy from the back was mediocre.
Just like his partner, Jansson was good in defence but was shoddy in passing the ball out from the back.
Had two chances to score a goal, including one which hit the post. Made one or two good tackles to stop the opposition attacks.
Shielded the backline very well and got forward at times to have a pop from distance. A very good performance.
He was making good runs and Ayling was finding him more often than not. However, his final ball lacked quality and needs to improve.
Had a quiet first half but sprung into life after the break and was involved in the equaliser.
Scored an absolute peach to level things up. Grew into the game after a quiet first half.
Another game which just got away from the Macedonian. He was not able to impact the match as much as he would have liked to.
Worked his socks off for the team and tried to make runs to probe the defence. Played a good ball for Klich to score the equaliser.
