Predicted Arsenal line-up to face Watford in the Premier League

An in-form Arsenal welcome a tenacious Watford to the Emirates Stadium for this weekend’s Premier League clash. Unai Emery’s men are in great form at the moment and they have won all of their last six games in all competitions – four in a row in the league.

After a stuttering start, the Gunners have picked up momentum and are looking good ahead of their game against Watford. However, the Hornets are not an easy nut to crack under Javi Gracia. They have also made an impressive start to the season in the league – winning four, losing one and drawing the other in the six games played. It won’t be easy for Arsenal by any means.

Team News

Laurent Koscielny, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Konstantinos Mavropanos are long-term absentees. Sokratis Papastathopoulos, who got injured last week against Everton, is still struggling to recover for this weekend’s game. We may see Rob Holding start ahead of the Greek. Emery made wholesale changes for the Carabao Cup game and expect him to revert to his regular eleven.

Predicted Arsenal XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Unai Emery

Petr Cech (GK)

The veteran has earned his place in the line-up despite being twitchy with the ball at his feet. His save rate is still one of the best in the league.

Hector Bellerin

Hector Bellerin (RB)

Was given a day off against Brentford and should be back in action for the weekend.

Shkodran Mustafi (CB)

The German has been suspect at the back so far. He needs to improve his game before the injured centre-backs return.

Rob Holding (CB)

With Sokratis labouring to get fit for the weekend, Holding could start.

Nacho Monreal (LB)

Sead Kolasinac is back in the fray to start games but may take time to be match fit. Hence, Monreal should continue at left-back.

Lucas Torreira

Lucas Torreira (CM)

The Uruguayan got his first league start last week and he did well. His place is almost nailed down for the season.

Granit Xhaka (CM)

He was rested for the Brentford clash and should be fresh to play against Watford.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang (LW)

The Gabonese international is doing well at left-wing. He should continue there with Alexandre Lacazette up front.

Mesut Ozil (CAM)

The German’s best position is the attacking midfield role behind the striker. He should start there rather than at right-wing.

Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi (RW)

The Nigerian has been in good form this season, which has been a surprise. He deserves to play more in the league now.

Alexandre Lacazette (ST)

The Frenchman is in good scoring form. He showed that by netting a gem against Everton last week. He is Arsenal’s main man now.
