Emmanuel Frimpong For Sale In January

Share

A strong rumor around emirates is revolving that Arsenal’s academy graduate Emmanuel Frimpong will not be offered a new contract and Arsene Wenger is ready to let him leave in January either on loan or for a permanent move.

Frimpong to move on in January

Although these may be plain media rumors, the player himself accepted that he would welcome a loan move for the rest of the season to get his feet running again.

“Subject to rumours am not leaving [Arsenal]”, he announced via his Twitter accountI am positive of going on loan this week which am really excited about and I am fully commited to [Arsenal]”, he continued. And am not in my last year or looking to be sold just to clear matters thank you and going on loan to get games and come back to Arsenal.”

Frimpong has been with the Gunners since he was nine years old, joining at the same time as fellow midfielder Jack Wilshere, he has just come back from an injury and one would imagine that selling a player like Frimpong, who is the only physically strong player Arsenal have would be disastrous.

However, the 20-year-old’s Emirates Stadium contract expires come the end of the season, and the report claims Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has come to the belief that Frimpong will be having a tough time making it to the first team and believes the player has to move on if he wants to get some time in the pitch.

Frimpong is also linked with a move away to Wolves, where he previously spent an unsuccessful campaign last year due to his cruciate knee ligament. Recent weeks have seen him return to full training following his injury, but he is yet to appear for the Arsenal first team and has only played in reserve fixtures and the Capital One Cup.

The reports claim that Wenger has been disappointed with Frimpong’s development since being promoted from the youth ranks, as well as being unimpressed with his discipline issues relating to Twitter. Either way it suggests that Frimpong will move out of the Emirates either on loan or for a permanent deal during the January transfer window.
