Predicted Wolves Line-up To Face Reading In The EFL Championship

Wolves’ win against Fulham last time was pretty routine and showed why they may relentlessly keep going towards a rather predictable title win.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be without Barry Douglas who is out due to suspension after picking up his 5^th yellow card of the season last time. He may be replaced by Ruben Vinagre, while Phil Ofosu-Ayeh is out with tendonitis. Another 5-2-3 line-up should be in evidence, using the following personnel:

Formation: 5-2-3

Manager: Nuno Espirito Santo

GK – John Ruddy

The ex-Norwich City man is having a solid season and deserves his share of the plaudits for where Wolves sit.

CB – Danny Batth

Was left out last time to give Bennett a chance, but may well be reinstalled here.

CB – Conor Coady

Another revelation; first a midfielder, then a right-back, he is now a good-looking centre-back.

CB – Willy Boly

Although he wasn’t the first pick at the start of the season, Boly has shown his quality in recent weeks and is one of the better defenders in this division.

RWB – Matt Doherty

Doing really well in this role and another start would appear to be on the cards for a man who had to fill in at left-back last season.

LWB – Ruben Vinagre

Should replace Barry Douglas down the left. Should be a like-for-like switch.

CM – Romain Saiss

Wolves are looking for reinforcements in this position over the winter to add more quality and guarantee themselves this title. For now though, Saiss should continue with Neves in what has been a high quality and solid central midfield partnership so far.

CM – Ruben Neves

Along with Jota, he is the real quality in this line-up and is obviously a Premier League player even now. He will surely be in that division next season one way or the other.

RW – Helder Costa

Was not used last time but I can’t help feeling that he is still a better player than Ivan Cavaleiro, on his day, which speaks volumes about the strength in depth that Wolves possess.

LW – Diogo Jota

Wolves really need to move quickly to tie Jota down on a permanent deal this winter or else risk losing him to a top division club in either England or Spain. A very, very talented individual.

ST – Leo Bonatini

The newly-crowned Championship Player of the Month and one who is repelling all comers up front. The club are still talking about bringing in a new striker but whoever it may be, they’ll will have to go some way to oust this man from the starting line-up.
