Premier League champions Chelsea will now be launching a £29m bid in order to bring Porto’s rising star Ruben Neves to Stamford Bridge, but might until the end of the current campaign to do so, as per reports from the Evening Standard. The 18-year-old defensive midfielder has been superb in recent times and once again was impressive during his side’s 2-1 win over the Blues, in their Champions League match on Tuesday evening.

Manager Jose Mourinho has been keeping tabs on the youngster and now will look to make an offer for acquiring his services in the near future, by paying out his release clause.

With Manchester United already shocking the world by paying £36m for Anthony Martial in the summer transfer window, making him the most expensive teenager in history, English clubs are now expected to spend big to buy Europe’s best young talents.

Further, it is being claimed that the west London side could now make Neves, the second most expensive teenager, after the Frenchman. The youngster is already well established as Porto’s first-team player and is also part of the Portugal Under-21 set-up. The talented star has also caught the attention of La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona and Chelsea know that if they want to sign their target, they need to act quickly.
