Chelsea – Manchester City Combined XI Featuring 6 Blues And 5 Citizens For The Weekend Clash

Share

It is the top of the table clash as Chelsea aims to take an 8 point lead at the top while Man City want to cut that to a 2 point one. It is going to be exciting for the league to witness the best trams in action over the weekend and here is a team which I think is the best eleven from the players that would play on Saturday.

GK: Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)

The Belgian has been in exceptional form off late helping Chelsea hold on to wins and draws especially against Liverpool. He’ll be up against Sergio Aguero in an epic battle.

DF: Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea)

He was praised by the manager for extreme passion and commitment to Chelsea when he played through a bloody wound against Liverpool. He is a key player for the Blues and would be important both in offense and defense by providing new dimension to both aspects.

DF: John Terry (Chelsea)

The Chelsea Skipper is still their main central defender and leader. He has been the organiser at the back and would be required to be at his best against Sergio Aguero who has a lot of pace and trickery.

DF: Vincent Kompany (Man City)

He would be glad that there is not going to be a burly Diego Costa to face him (most probably). He is one of the best defenders in the world and believes in winning the ball on the front foot and contribute to attacks.

DF: Pablo Zabaleta (Man City)

One of the best Right Backs in the league, he will have to face his long time tormentor Eden Hazard. Zabaleta was red carded the last time these two teams met and he would want to maintain his composure this time.

MID: Nemanja Matic (Chelsea)

One of the world’s best midfielders of his kind, he holds fort for Chelsea and commands the defensive midfield. A combative and intelligent player, Matic is unbeatable on his best days.

MID: Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)

He has a minor injury concern but there is a good chance that Mourinho would still play his playmaker at home to control the game. Fabregas has the most assists in the league and a dangerous player when given time and space to look out for passes.

MID: David Silva (Man City)

He is one of the most creative midfielders in the world. The flair and the movement he brings for the team is extremely important for the team’s fluid offensive displays and he would be the man creating the midfield worries for the hosts.

MID: James Milner (Man City)

The extremely hardworking and committed player whenever on the pitch, James Milner can cause a lot of problems with his directness and honest attacking. Chelsea would have to be wary of this dark horse of a player.

MID: Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

He is considered one of the best players in the world and is in great touch as well. He would have to be at his best once again to help Chelsea have a real go at Man City and get the three points. He has had good games against Zabaleta before and would love this challenge.

FW: Sergio Aguero (Man City)

No doubt about who would be the striker in this eleven. Costa is apparently suspended and this leaves Aguero without any completion for the spot and a straight walk in to this combined eleven. He has been a prolific scorer this season but has suffered injuries. He would hurt Chelsea if left unmarked.
