Chelsea Latest Including: Rooney’s Deadline, Jose Mourinho, And Interests For John Obi Mikel

I’m back at Chelsea to heal the family rift after Benitez fall out – Mourinho

One of the primary jobs of Jose Mourinho will be to get the fan’s support going in favour of him again. Well he already has that, isn’t? The Stamford Bridge faithful were a little broken last season, after the appointment of former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez as the manager and supporters did not refrain from voicing their discontent.

The fact that made Benitez’s job more difficult was the way he replaced fan favourite and club legend Roberto Di Mateo. Di Mateo was ousted just months after he won the Champions League with the Blues. Even after winning the Europa League, the situation did not improve much, although the fans seemed to kind of accepted him.

Now Mourinho has the job of regaining the support of fans from all the quarters and he has vowed to do that.

“I want them to be with us as a Blue family – a Blue family that last year, at certain moments, looked like it was broken. I just want to put the family back together so I want them to support us all.

I want the players to be supported, I want them to support Chelsea. I want them to be with us in good moments and bad moments, in cold weather and sunny weather, at home and away, when we are winning and losing.”, he said in an interview to The Sun.

Although the fans are already delighted with his arrival, but it is true that actions speak louder than words and Mourinho winning some silverwares for the club to add to the back-to-back Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006, two Carling Cups, an FA Cup and the Community Shield would rate him as one of the greats.

Other Latest Headlines:

Former Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez has expressed his desire to get midfielder John Obi Mikel into his team from the London club. Chelsea have brought in some players in the likes of Marco van Ginkel and Andre Schurrle to strengthen their squad and this has put the playing time of Mikel in doubts.

In this scenario, Benitez has proposed a loan move for Mikel with the option of a buyout. The midfielder, who has spent seven years at Stamford Bridge, would fit into the Napoli squad without much ado and could emerge as one of the primary players of the Serie a team.

In other news, The Daily Express reports that Jose Mourinho and Chelsea want Rooney’s matter to be solved by August 26 or the deal is off. The Blues have been targeting the England International after their initial targets were lured away by other European heavy weights. After failing in the two previous bid, Mourino wants to get this over with before they travel to Old Trafford on the Bank Holiday Monday and is ready to pay as much as £28million for Rooney.
