Brilliant Eriksen – The Best And The Worst Rated Tottenham Players From The 1-0 Win vs Bournemouth

Share

Full Time: Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Bournemouth

Tottenham Hotspur continued their decent start to the league campaign with a narrow victory over Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side, as they managed to end their Wembley hoodoo to pick up their first league victory in their new home. Christian Eriksen scored the only goal of the game, just two minutes into the second half, after a first half that was dominated by the visitors.

Pochettino will be happy with all three points and another clean sheet, and here’s how the Tottenham players fared on the day.

Tottenham Player Ratings

Hugo Lloris (7)

Made a couple of important saves in the first half and was solid whenever called upon, holding on to his clean sheet.

Kieran Trippier (6)

Was comfortable all night with the ball at his feet and also created a couple of half chances as he stuck to his task on the flank well.

Toby Alderweireld (6)

Was constantly under pressure from the Bournemouth attack in the first-half but managed to cope with it and helped his side to a victory.

Davinson Sanchez (7)

Used his strength and pace really well to keep the Bournemouth attackers in check and was always on the front foot.

Jan Vertonghen (6)

Played as a full-back in Davies’ absence and did no harm to his reputation, putting in a shift at both ends of the field.

Eric Dier (6)

Started the game in the midfield and ended it as a part of the backline, showing his versatility. Should have scored from close range with a shot that was blocked.

Harry Winks (7)

Hardly wasted possession of the ball and didn’t try anything fancy, keeping the ball rolling in the midfield for Spurs.

Christian Eriksen (8)

The best player on the pitch, as he was a constant threat to the Bournemouth defence. Capped off his display by scoring the winner.

Dele Alli (5)

Wasteful yet again as he looks ridiculously out of sorts, failing to make an impact in front of goal.

Heung-Min Son (4)

Wasted a number of half-chances as he looked off-colour and failed to have the impact that was required in the attacking third.

Harry Kane (6)

Was not his usual self in front of goal as he lost the ball a number of times. But he still came close to scoring on more than one occasion.

Subs

Moussa Sissoko (6)

Almost made an immediate impact in the second half, coming on from the bench, and improved Spurs’ chances in front of goal after taking the field.

Fernando Llorente (N/A)

Replaced Harry Kane with 5 minutes left on the clock.

George Kevin Nkodou  (N/A)

Came on for Alli in stoppage time.
