Tammy Abraham scored a brace as Swansea beat Huddersfield 2-0

Full Time: Swansea City 2-0 Huddersfield Town

Swansea City ended their four-game run without a win in the Premier League, when they defeated Huddersfield Town 2-0, at the Liberty Stadium, on Saturday.

The Swans took the lead through Tammy Abraham’s brilliant first-time finish, three minutes from half-time, after Huddersfield keeper Jonas Lossl played a poor pass straight to Tom Carroll, who in turn found the Chelsea loanee. The English youth striker doubled his and his team’s tally three minutes after the break, tapping in home from close.

Here’s how the Swansea players performed on the day against the Terriers:

Swansea City Player Ratings

Lukasz Fabianski – 7/10

Did not have a whole lot to do in goal, but showed good command in and around his area and was alert to situations.

Kyle Naughton – 7/10

Got forward well and linked up nicely with Luciano Narsingh and was involved in a number of moves. Did allow some easy crosses into the boxes from the opposition, but it was still a strong display.

Federico Fernandez – 8/10

Stood like a rock in the path of the physical Laurent Depoitre and came out on top against the Belgian. Brilliant.

Alfie Mawson – 7/10

Held his fort strongly alongside his Argentine centre-back partner, putting in a strong and solid display.

Martin Olsson – 7/10

He too got forward well and his end product too was better than it had been in the past few games. Improved display.

Leon Britton – 7/10

The captain provided the foundation in the midfield for his teammates to build upon. Exceptional work-rate as always.

Leroy Fer – 6/10

Offered his usual energy and thrust, but lacked the quality on a number of occasions and was error-prone at times.

Tom Carroll – 8/10

Assisted Abraham’s first goal of the game. After a series of disappointing displays, the former Spurs man stepped it up against Huddersfield with a strong and smart performance.

Luciano Narsingh – 7/10

Just his fourth start for the club, but was very impressive, offering great incision with his piercing runs from the right flank. Played a part in the second goal.

Tammy Abraham – 8/10

Took his goals really well, demonstrating great composure. He looked like a real threat and put in another good shift off the ball as well.

Jordan Ayew – 7/10

Got the assist for the second goal. Pressed well and worked hard down the left-hand side .

Substitutes

Ki Sung-Yeung – 6/10

Replaced Fer in the 76th minute. Came close to scoring.

Nathan Dyer – N/A

On for Narsingh for the final ten minutes to play his first game in eight months.

Sam Clucas – N/A

Came on for Britton late on.
