The Best And The Worst Rated Rangers’ Players In Their 1-1 Draw Against Ross County

Share

On Saturday, a wasteful Rangers’ side dropped down a place on the Scottish Premiership table following their 1 – 1 draw against a struggling Ross County side that has managed just 5 league victories this term.

Following a dismal performance that saw them suffer a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Hearts on Wednesday, Mark Warburton’s charges couldn’t bounce back as it would have been expected of them at the Ibrox Stadium, and the fans aired their grievances with boos following a first half in which the visitors had taken the lead.

Despite making necessary changes to his starting lineup against Ross County, Warburton couldn’t see the effect on the pitch, with the visitors being the side that looked most likely to grab an opener.

And it didn’t take long for one to come as Alex Schalk applied a precise finish on clipped Jim O’Brien’s pass to put his side in front on the 17th minute. They squandered few more chances afterwards, with Foderingham making some superb saves to keep Rangers in the game.

Joe Garner and Philippe Senderos threatened to find a much-needed equalizer for the hosts when play restarted, but none came until the closing stages of the game.

With 20 minutes to go, Rangers’ skipper, Wallace, combined perfectly well with Jon Toral in the box to break the hearts of the Highlanders and inject some level of hope into the side and its disappointed fans.

Try as they might, no winning goal surfaced, as questions got raised over their finishing, with only one out of their 22 shots attempted going in.

Despite having played a game more, Rangers find themselves level with Aberdeen on points but behind on goal difference.

A look is taken at how the players are rated in another disappointing outing for the Light Blues.

Foderingham

Made some great saves but a mixup between him and Clint Hill almost gifted the visitors the 2nd goal.

Rating: 6/10

Senderos

He returned to the lineup and was decent at the back while also coming close to scoring only for him to head over.

Rating: 6/10

Wallace

The skipper put his side back into the game after playing a perfect one-two with Toral.

Rating: 7/10

Tavernier

Tried to create chances with some crosses and attempted efforts on goal but the end product was average.

Rating: 6/10

Hill

Was involved in a mix up with Wes and he tried scoring at the other end with a header that was saved.

Rating: 6/10

Holt

He returned to the starting lineup and he did put in a decent performance.

Rating: 6/10

Hyndman

Came close to grabbing a winner only for his attempt outside of the box to go inches wide.

Rating: 6/10

Jon Toral

Despite grabbing a fine assist and making efforts to score, that he missed a sitter from a rebound, would have left Warburton ruing the missed chance.

Rating: 5/10

McKay

Always made efforts to score but he wasn’t able to find the back of the net.

Rating: 6/10

Garner

Returned to the starting XI following a shoulder injury and drew few saves from Fox.

Withdrawn after 60 minutes as he attempts to attain full fitness.

Rating: 6/10

Miller

The striker saw a fine chance but could only hit a header wide.

Rating: 6/10

SUBSTITUTES

Forrester

Was a cool sub and he almost made an instant impact after an attempt at goal that went wide.

Rating: 5/10

Waghorn

Couldn’t make the desired impact off the bench as the hosts laboured for a winning goal.

Rating: 5/10
