Arsenal have had many issues over the course of this season and injuries have certainly played their part as they usual do. Without it, the club would have probably finished in a Champions League spot with arguably two of their best defenders fully fit.
They lost both Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding within the space of two months due to ACL tears. That injury is probably the worst of the lot with it taking up to between six to nine months to recover at the very least.
It would go on to rule both the centre-back and the right-back out for the season and a cameo of injuries to other stars further hurt the club. Henrikh Mkhitaryan suffered a metatarsal fracture which saw him miss 10 games and Danny Welbeck was out since November with an ankle injury.
It’s all part of the various permutations and combinations that go through anyone’s mind because with a few of those players fit, things could have been different.
However, that’s in the past and Arsenal need to start looking towards the future, especially with the likes of Petr Cech, Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck all leaving the club. All will leave for free, with Ramsey already confirmed that he will be joining Juventus.
Welbeck, on the other hand, has been linked with a few moves, while Cech has retired from football. It’s a massive blow for the club and while replacing them will be hard, it’s a job that needs to be done in the near future.
One man who has come up quite often is Malcom and the Sun has reported that Arsenal now lead the race. That is alongside eternal rivals Tottenham, with the clubs battling for the £60m-rated star.
It’s a stunning move and one that Arsenal have to make, especially given how prolific the Brazilian has been. Even in a rather disappointing debut season for Barcelona, he finished with four goals and two assists despite playing just over a thousand minutes in total.
That’s the kind of game time that urges you to leave but at the age of 22, Malcom has a bright future and one that has to see him play for another club.

Arsenal have a lot to do but if they win the Europa League then the lure of the Champions League will prove to help their cause. Someone like Malcom wants to test himself at the highest levels and it’s why the club needs to consider adding him to their roster.
