According to a report in the Star, Premier League new boys Sheffield United are interested in signing Birmingham City’s Jose Ignacio Peleteiro Ramallo (aka Jota) during this summer transfer window.

The Spaniard, who has a contract until the summer of 2021, is now being targeted by Premier League’s Sheffield United (h/t Star). He has scored three goals and supplied 11 in 40 league appearances this season, playing in various positions across attacking midfield to wide attacking areas.
Here’s why Wilder’s men making a move for the 27-year-old would be good for both parties:
Jota is a versatile attacking midfield player, who can operate as a number 10 or can also play as a winger on either side. He has the pace and dribbling skills to worry defenders, whether it by using space on the counter or being one-on-one.
Furthermore, the 27-year-old is a very neat passer of the ball and tends to find key passes at will in the final third. For that reason, his assist count is so high every time.
The Spaniard also doesn’t shy away from having a pop at goal from distance. If he is given space in between the lines around the box, then one can expect a shot attempted towards the goal, which more often tests the goalkeeper’s handling.
If Sheffield United manage to sign him, it could be a great move for them. The scoring and creation of goals in the Premier League will be tough. Hence, bringing in more creativity to the squad would only help them break that code.
From the player’s point of view, he has played in the Championship for a few years now and done well. He should also be looking forward to playing at a level higher than that and test his skills out.
