Predicted Leeds United Line-up To Face Birmingham City In the EFL Championship

After demolishing Burton Albion 5-0 over the weekend, Leeds United will next welcome Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham City to the Elland Road this Tuesday night, in the EFL Championship.

Thomas Christiansen’s Whites sit second in the league table, following their thrashing of the Brewers on Saturday and the manager will be hoping that his side continue their strong start to the season. Leeds are unbeaten at home this season and have managed to keep five consecutive clean sheets in the Championship, after having conceded twice against Bolton Wanderers on the opening day. And another strong display against a struggling Birmignham is very much on the cards.

Team News

Vurnon Anita picked up an injury in the weekend encounter is likely to be given the day off. Elsewhere, Gaetano Berardi has returned to training, but he is unlikely to play a part while Matthew Pennington continues his recovery from injury. Caleb Ekuban remains ruled out for the long run.

Manager: Thomas Christiansen

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Felix Wiedwald (GK)

Five consecutive clean sheets will have done him a world of good. Will continue between the sticks for the Whites.

Luke Ayling (RB)

The 25-year old is a vital player for the Yorkshire based outfit, due to his marauding runs down the right-hand side. A definite starter.

Luke Ayling

Pontus Jansson (CB)

Starting to display the form that made him one of the best defenders in the division last season. Should retain his place in the XI.

Liam Cooper (CB)

The club captain has begun the season on an extremely strong note and is leading the charge from the front. Should partner Jansson in the heart of the defence.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (LB)

With Berardi still not ready and Anita injured, the loanee from Manchester United should get the nod from the kick-off.

Eunan O’Kane (CM)

The Irishman has been one of the best players for the Whites this season and had a great outing on Saturday. Should keep his place in the line-up.

Kemar Roofe

Ronaldo Vieira (CM)

While Kalvin Phillips has been outstanding and scored against Burton over the weekend, we might see Christiansen hand the 19-year old Vieira a start against Birmingham.

Kemar Roofe (RW)

Was one of Leeds’ best players on Saturday and has already netted 5 times this season in 7 games. Should start on the right-hand side of the attack, giving Gianni Alioski another day off, after his international duties.

Samu Saiz (CAM)

The former Huesca man has turned into a cult hero at the Elland Road already, with some breathtaking performances. Will assume duties as the playmaker behind the striker.

Pablo Hernandez (LW)

The Spaniard was at his best against the Brewers, pulling the strings at will. When affored space and time on the ball, he can punish the opposition with his vision. Should start again on the left flank.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga (ST)

The German had a dream debut during the weekend, grabbing a double and notching up an assist too. His link-up play and understanding with the rest of his attacking teammates was exciting to watch. Expect him to add more goals on Tuesday.
