Celtic 3-0 Dundee: Hoops remain on top of the table after easy win

Celtic cemented their place at the top of the league table after defeating Dundee 3-0 at Celtic Park. Teenager Mikey Johnston scored a brace to help his team win another game of football.

This is his second appearance for the club and has already netted three goals. Just as things looked pale before half-time, Johnston gave the Hoops a lead going into the break. It was a good finish by the teenager to get the ball past Jack Hamilton.

The game was pretty much done and dusted when the striker scored from his header. The ball crept in via the post and it seemed like the home side had control of the game throughout. Ryan Christie then cut inside from the right to have a shot on goal. The goalkeeper made a decent save but his spillage fell straight into the path of Filip Benkovic. The centre-back then tapped it home to make the scoreline 3-0.

From the moment the Dundee lineup was announced, it was clear that they won’t be attacking much and would only look to take out a point. But Celtic had enough quality in the right areas of the pitch to make the difference.

This result keeps Brendan Rodgers’ men on top of the league, now three points clear of Aberdeen, having played a game less. Dundee, meanwhile, are rock bottom in the standings and they are five points behind the safety zone.

Here’s how the Celtic fans reacted on social media after another comfortable win:
