Why Chelsea Should Sign Watford’s Richarlison In January

Richarlison was a prime target over the summer and had a lot of Premier League clubs interested in him but he eventually joined Watford. He has been highly influential for the Hornets and has thrived under Marco Silva’s tutelage. Considering how impressive he has been, it comes as no surprise that Chelsea are keeping an eye on him.

When he completed the switch to Watford from Fluminense, there were some concerns as to how he would cope with the rigours of the Premier League. However, the talented youngster has exceeded expectations and has settled down admirably at Vicarage Road. Richarlison’s trickery and pace on the left flank are establishing himself as one of the brightest young talents in the league. But should Chelsea go all out to sign him?

The Samba star has notched up 5 goals and 3 assists in just 12 appearances and he was particularly brilliant in the 4-2 loss at Stamford Bridge. It is likely that Antonio Conte spotted him then. With the January window coming up, Conte could be looking at the Brazilian as a viable midfield addition.

After a rocky start, the Blues have managed to bounce back but they will need midfield reinforcements. N’golo Kante continues to be a beacon of consistency for Chelsea but players like Danny Drinkwater, Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayoko have failed to deliver strong performances.

Conte should definitely go all out to land Richarlison since the player is on the verge of becoming one of the Premier League’s best. It is better for Chelsea to make an attempt now instead of trying to sign him later.
