3 Strikers Who Can Guarantee 15 Goals A Season For Arsenal

Share

The hunt for a top striker continues for Arsenal, while Olivier Giroud has been banging in the goals recently as he has now scored in 6 consecutive Arsenal matches, they still need another striker who can not only chip in with goals but provide another option to the silky Frenchman. Welbeck has not been able to be as big a threat in front of goal as expected and always relying on Sanchez might have saved them this season but this cannot be a tactic for every season.

Wenger knows that he needs to act fast in the transfer window to ensure that their targets don’t sign with other clubs but in all honesty, Arsenal is a great club to sign for and with Sanchez and Ozil signing in consecutive years, another signing of that magnitude could be possible. In a recent interview, Wenger has revealed that he wants to sign a striker who can score 15 goals in a season.

We look at 3 players who could be targeted by Arsene and they would ensure at least 15 goals a season for the Gunners.

1. Alexandre Lacazette

Alexandre Lacazette

The star goal scorer in France at the moment, Lacazette has fired Lyon back into contention for a Ligue 1 title as they look to break the stronghold that a certain Paris club has had on the title. Lacazette has been on fire this season and has netted 24 times and also has provided 5 assists.

He could be available on a free at the end of the season if Arsene gets his timing right and the player would be a perfect signing for Arsenal, he has the pace, the finishing ability and the movement which would work in tandem with the creativity that Arsenal have in midfield, plus he would guarantee loads of goals.

2. Charlie Austin

It might be a bit of a longshot but QPR will get relegated unless a miracle happens and Charlie Austin would probably move to another Premier League club at the end of the season. The 29 year old has been the star player for QPR in a season which can be forgotten, he has scored 16 goals already this season for a struggling club.

He probably would not start every game for Arsenal and would play second fiddle to Giroud but he would be an amazing option to have on the bench, especially since he has hit the high notes in the Premier League and is ready to make a switch to a bigger club.

3. Andre-Pierre Gicnac

The French flavour continues with another striker making the waves in Ligue 1. This season has been a season of rejuvenation for Gicnac who was left out in the cold last season, this season, he has fired Marseille into contention for the Championship and even if they miss out they should make a return to the Champions League.

Gicnac has scored 18 goals in the league this season and seems like he can score in almost every game he plays although he is a little older than Lacazette, he is still a good option as a secondary striker, the only problem being that his playing style is very similar to that of Olivier Giroud and that might be an issue for Arsenal.
