3 Reasons Why Ryan Giggs (And Not Mourinho) Should Be The Next Manchester United Manager

Share

Louis van Gaal’s time at Manchester United could well be coming to an end. Despite winning against a struggling Swansea and seeing Wayne Rooney get on the scoreboard, the Dutch manager still is under pressure and a couple of bad results could well lead to the sacking of the manager.

Also, Van Gaal himself has stated if he thinks he cannot get the job done at United, he will walk away from the club and that would lead to a tug of war to sign Jose Mourinho, who seems to be the man in place to take over from Van Gaal, should the Dutch manager get the boot.

Manchester United could probably get any manager they want in the world but they already have a manager in the making with Ryan Giggs. The Welsh Wizard has spent his entire career at United, first as a player and now as an assistant manager and here are three reasons why Giggs could well be the right man for Manchester United in place of Jose Mourinho.

Knows the club inside out

Who else would know more about the issues of Manchester United and what is required by the Manchester United fans than Giggs? He is a living legend at the club and knows what kind of football the club need to play.

He would also be an approachable manager, unlike Jose Mourinho who seems to want to have a fight and doesn’t bring the attacking brand of football that the club needs. Giggs could well become a popular character if he becomes the man leading Manchester United and could well take them to a league title, after going through two managers in almost three seasons.

Has learned under the best

Whether you like Louis van Gaal or not, the Dutch manager does have an impressive resume and has also taken most of the clubs he has managed to great success. Ryan Giggs would certainly have picked up a lot of pointers under the Dutch manager but let us not forget that he has also learned under another legend in Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ryan would know how to deal with the superstars and get the best out of them if he follows the route and teachings from Alex Ferguson and with him being at the club for so long and playing under the Scotsman, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him take up the role that Alex had for all these years, and succeed.

Ex-players seem to be working

Alright, Ryan Giggs might not have the experience of being at the deep end; after all he did manage the club for a few games after the sacking of David Moyes but Pep Guardiola, Vincenzo Montella, Luis Enrique are just a few examples of ex-players doing well for their clubs.

Ryan knows everything about the club and he could well be the man who fixes the problems that are plaguing Manchester United. The only thing that might stop him is the fear of losing face as the manager of United.
